Just inside the Roman gateway to the left is a small but intricate relief carving of Bes, the ugly little demi-god. Bes was thought to always be around during festivities and celebrations. Note how the paint still remains on his jolly little cheeks. Then visit Abydos Temple ( Osoris Temple ) where the ancient Egyptians believed the god Osoris ( lord of the underworld ) to be buried.
